Tips For Learning How To Snowboard
by: Danielle Rose
Learning to snowboard is difficult just like any new thing that you may try. It will take time to learn, but by doing simple things and learning simple techniques, you will be snowboarding soon!
Learning how to snowboard can be difficult and certainly can be painful if you don’t learn how to fall correctly. Before ever setting foot on a snowboard, you need to be aware that you are going to fall, and learn how to do it properly.
Taking beginning lessons is a good idea, because it will teach you the basic concept of falling. It may sound simple, but it will also teach you that the snowboard slides down the hill, and teach you to keep your balance on it. Once this is achieved, you can begin learning how to control the snowboard, and how to turn it. Shifting weight from the toe-side to the heal-side edges of the board is what is going to allow you to steer the snowboard. http://www.mountainsnowboarding.com/learntosnowboard/
Golf Weight Training Is The Answer To Longer Drives
December 31, 2007
It is no secret that most of the male and female tour players who want to play their best golf, do golf weight training exercises. But it’s not the kind of grueling, sweating stuff you’re thinking about.
There is a HUGE misconception of what and how this type of program should be done. It does not take going into a gym and lifting heavy weights; nor does it take a 2-3 hour daily commitment.
I have seen many "so-called" golf weight training programs, books, and videos etc that do in fact show the golfer in the gym and on machines. Sitting on a machine, isolating one muscle group is not golf-specific or sport-specific for that matter.
Golf is a dynamic movement done on your feet. Sitting in a machine in a "controlled" environment will not improve your swing.
The golf swing incorporates most of the muscles of the body in a sequential motion. I hope you can now see sitting in a machine won’t improve that.
So what truly is a ‘golf-specific’ program?
For starters, doing a lot of exercise ‘on your feet’ and in your golf posture will help. The more you can get in your posture and strength train, the quicker the benefit to your game.

Basic Turkey Hunting Tips
by: Niall Barco
Turkey hunting is challenging, exciting and in some cases becomes addictive. Turkey’s senses are extremely keen - even your heart pounding can make the turkey vanish like a puff of smoke.
Basic help in turkey hunting
Before you can hunt a wild turkey, you have got to find them. The easiest way to do this is by locating the general areas of the turkey’s habitat.
• Get a good map of the area you plan to hunt.
• Wave or use a locator call like an owl hooter or crow call or even a turkey call to try to get a response. When you hear a gobbler, mark the locator map.
• Scout for the best location on foot. Check for signs of the bird’s scratches, droppings of feathers. This information can help you locate some areas. Check along mud holes, creek banks, pastures, log roads, fencerows etc. as many trips as possible.
• Never try to get too close to the turkey. A turkey’s eyes, ears and awareness are many times better than yours.
Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger
by: Bob Johnson
The Pittsburgh Steelers found a real gem when they drafted AFL quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Nicknamed “Big Ben,” this Ohio native led the Steelers to the Super Bowl during his second year in the league.
An interest in sports during his high school years perhaps led to Roethlisberger’s success. As captain of the football, basketball and baseball teams, this star in the making finally landed his spot as the quarterback of his high school football team during his senior year. It appears as if that practice paid off - literally. In 2004, when Ben Roethlisberger found his way into the NFL Draft, the Steelers signed him to a six year contract with an impressive signing bonus. During his rookie season, Roethlisberger succeeded with a 13-0 record for the best start by a rookie. In October 2005, just one year after he was selected in the draft, Ben Roethlisberger became the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year as named by the Associated Press. During his rookie season, passing records were something to be broken by this Findlay High School graduate. Among them, best passer rating and highest completion percentage. It was obvious to all who saw him, including Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, that this young man was here to play. And play he did. As the 2005 regular season wrapped up, the Steelers had secured the AFC league’s wild card position in the Super Bowl XL. On February 5, 2006, the Steelers took hom the Super Bowl victory in a win against the Seattle Seahawks.
How Golf Stretches In Your Office Can Improve Your Game
December 28, 2007
Yes you heard it right! Golf stretches in your office. What a great way to take a quick break from your computer to not only feel better in the moment, but improve your game at the same time.
I’ve come up with many clever ways to work around the "I don’t have time" reason (excuse).
You can’t tell me you don’t have 15 seconds at your computer?an no-less in your chair? That’s right?I have come up with a whole routine you can do at your office that will quickly and dramatically improve your range of motion in your golf swing.
How many times have you been sitting at your computer with pains in your neck, back, shoulders, hips and even feet?
I’ve been there and that’s why I’ve come up with a simple and quick routine to solve this very common problem.
If you are a fanatic golfer like me?you think about golf 24/7. Even at work! There’s nothing wrong with that as long as you’re getting your work done.
But why not make valuable use of that quick moment for golf by doing a stretch at your desk without leaving your chair?
Hockey Rules Made Easy

Hockey Rules Made Easy
by: Jason Tarasi
If you’re a newcomer to the game of hockey you may find the rules of the game a bit confusing, but with a little self-educating you’ll pick up them right away. When you understand the hockey penalties, you’ll find the game more enlightening regardless of whether you’re playing or enjoying a hockey game as a spectator. The rules for hockey aren’t too terribly complicated, just pretty different from other sports. Once you learn the rules, you may be ready to complain about the ref’s calls like everyone does in other sports, but be careful about arguing with the referees because hockey is a pretty disciplined game. The captain of a hockey team is the one person designated to talk to officials about the rules of the game. Each team has a captain and alternate captains. The alternates can talk to the officials about a play if the captain, for one reason or another, is not on the ice.
Rainbow Trout in the UK

Rainbow Trout in the UK
by: Chris Davis
Rainbow trout were introduced into the UK from the US in the early 1900’s.
This introduction coincided with the need to build extra water supplies for the growing industrial cities such as Bristol and Birmingham.
For a fish that is unable to breed naturally in all but a few British rivers the Rainbow trout has been an incredible success. This is due to its eagerness to feed compared with the native brown trout and its habit of shoaling.
Both of these soon made it a firm favourite with the fishermen and because of the Rainbow trout’s faster growth rate it was a favourite with the fish farmer as well.
The only fly in the ointment was that two different strains of rainbow trout were used - the Kamloops and the Shasta strain. Unfortunately these strains became sexually mature at different times of the year.
This resulted in fishermen catching ‘coloured’ fish in both late and early season.
The development of egg treatment solved this problem by producing Diploid rainbow trout which were all sterile females. This resulted in ‘clean’ fish all year round. As a bonus these trout also grew faster.
Guide to Playing Golf for Free and Getting Huge Discounts on Golf Balls, Golf Gloves, and Golf Stuff
December 26, 2007
If you love to play golf as much as most golf enthusiasts, you would probably play more if the great game of golf and most golf equipment wasn’t so grossly expensive. An 18-hole round of golf at even a moderately expensive golf course averages about $36.00. A decent box of 12 golf balls costs roughly $19.00, and golf clubs are hundreds. Although it’s impossible to get it all for free, there are ways to get free rounds of golf and huge discounts on golf equipment. Here are some guidelines to help you play more rounds of golf for free, get some free golf equipment and get huge discounts on other golf stuff:
Free or reduced rounds of golf:
Play golf writer for a day. Since anyone can contribute articles on the Internet, call the golf resort or club where you’d like to play and ask for the club pro. Tell him that you write reviews of golf courses for an Internet site (you can create the site yourself, or put them her for ezines). Tell the golf pro that you would like to play his course, write an article on it, and you were hoping he could set you up with a complimentary time. Perhaps he could even play along with you. Once you’ve done this, you’ll most likely be able to play there time and time again for free or for a reduced rate.
How To Find The Best Bicycle Frame Looking Beyond Its Paint

How To Find The Best Bicycle Frame Looking Beyond Its Paint
by: Alastair Hamilton
Whether you’re shopping for a bike or just admiring them, the first part you notice is probably the bicycle frame. The frame is the heart of a bicycle, as well as its art. Including the basically triangular core structure that supports both seat and handlebars and the extensions that attach to the wheels, the color and the geometry of the bicycle frame not only affects the beauty of the bike, but its strength and speed as well. The pleasure and success you derive from bicycle riding will be strongly impacted by having the right frame for your physique and your purposes.
The Two Most Important Aspects of Bicycle Frames Are Their Materials and Their Configuration
Naturally, your bicycle frame will take into dramatic account whether you ride primarily on roads or off-road. Not only are so-called mountain bike frames made of noticeably bigger “tubes,” they are made of more shock resistant materials, with stronger weldings. Road bike frames have a smaller triangular geometry and the main consideration in their material is its weight. Everything on a road bike is designed to keep the rider’s resistance to a minimum in order to promote fluency and speed, while a mountain bike is designed with the primary goal of shock absorption and maneuverability in mind alongside speed-influencing factors.
How To Choose The Right Shaft Flex For Your Golf Clubs

How To Choose The Right Shaft Flex For Your Golf Clubs
by: Jack Moorehouse
All low handicappers and golfers who are serious about shooting the lowest scores possible consider flex in their clubs. It makes the science of hitting the ball so much easier, which translates to more enjoyment on the course.
Now, when I say “flex”, I am referring to the ability of a golf shaft to bend as forces are applied to it during the golf swing. Just go ahead and “waggle” your club a little and see how much the shaft bends and you will get an idea of what “flex” is.
There are five basic categories or types of shaft flex:
1. Extra Stiff
2. Stiff
3. Regular
4. Senior
5. Ladies
Why is the flex in your shaft important? Well, when you have a flex that doesn’t match the needs of your swing, the result is the clubface being misaligned at impact, causing your shots to go off-target. Not good. To be more specific, your flex will impact how straight you hit the ball, how high or low it goes and how long or short it travels.
