 by: John Bolt

Have you ever wondered what in the world can make a golf ball fly so far to the left or to the right? How do you hit those unintentional duck hooks or wicked slices? Why can you never turn or move the ball when you really want to or have to, say to hook it around a tree. Some of these problems have to do with the players swing, and some has to do with the golf ball the player is using.

The golf ball of today has so much technology packed into such a little piece of equipment it’s incredible and picking the right one is almost as important as having the proper irons fitted to your game. Some fitting experts believe that almost 50 % o players are playing with the wrong type of ball. One of the main characteristics in the golf ball is the amount of spin the ball is designed to attain. There are some simple guidelines to follow so you get the proper spin golf ball. Here are the three main types of spin golf balls.

Golf Gadgets: For The Golfers Who Have Everything
 by: John Bolt

Golf gadgets: Who wants them? Who needs them? These little devices come in as many shapes, sizes, and forms as there are stars in the universe. Unlike short-game training devices or swing aids they do not work directly on teaching you the proper techniques of the golf swing. However they are indeed incredibly creative in unexpected and very imaginative ways. They are made to make the crazy game of golf more fun, a lot less strenuous and simply easier to play.

It is for this reason that the avid golfer in the family can no longer go through any Christmas without receiving one accessory either in their stocking or under the tree. These golf gadgets have become somewhat of a phenomenon and even a tradition in some house holds be it good or bad.

For the golfer who is receiving these gifts it becomes a sheer reminder of how much they need to work on their games. To some it can even become and embarrassment to think that these little golf accessories can help improve their games. For others they give them a great little giggle when they see what some crazy fool has come with to help their golf swing.

Learn To Putt And Keep Strokes In Your Bag

Learn To Putt And Keep Strokes In Your Bag
 by: Jeff O’Brien

If you’re just learning or taking up the game of golf, here’s the one tip that will lower your scores faster than any other tip on golf - putting. That’s right. Putting. No putting isn’t the sexy thing to do around the practice tee. It’s doesn’t draw a crowd around you like bombing 300 yard drives does, but putting is where you can immediately shave strokes off your golf game.

When I work with young people or anyone just taking up golf, I stress the importance of practicing and working on your game. I understand that it is only natural to want to go ‘hit’ the golf ball. It’s a great feeling to make solid contract on the ball and know for that moment in time that even the pro’s don’t hit it any better.

For this article, I’m not going to discuss the actual mechanics of putting, rather let’s discuss why your golf putting game probably deserves more focus that you give it and what you should do.

How To Choose The Best golf clubs For Your Game

April 19, 2008

Wilson , Callaway, Titleist, Adams , King Cobra, Yonex, Ping , Taylor Made, Mizuno, and Spaulding are all excellent name brand golf clubs. As a beginning or even a professional golfer, trying to decide which set of golf clubs to purchase, however, may often feel like taking a shot in the dark. In a society that is increasing name brand conscious, many of us are tempted to simply buy what everyone else seems to be buying. Selecting the proper golf clubs, however, is something that you shouldn’t do without having a good idea of what types are available and what the specific use of each club is. Using the proper golf club can and will greatly improve your game. Other important things to consider are choosing the right lie and the right shaft flex. The flexibility of the shaft of the club is known as the bend or flex. If you’re a powerful swinger, you’ll have more control with less bend. Beginners and less powerful swingers are better off with more flexibility.

Martial Arts Training Medicine

Martial Arts Training Medicine
 by: Joe Driscoll

Have you ever experienced the doldrums where you ask yourself about the meaning of life? Do you need something to pick you up and make you feel alive again? It’s no question that exercise is a great remedy for the doldrums, but many are no longer motivated to follow the traditional exercise path.

I have recommended Martial Arts training to many who have felt this way with great success. Training for self-defense or fighting gets to the very core of the human psyche. Genetically, we were designed to survive, and of course that includes defending ourselves.

With this in mind, it’s no coincidence that people begin to start feeling better when they begin some form of Martial Arts training. This goes way beyond the physical aspects of good training, it begins to get to the matter of having a clear sense of purpose. Over the years many a person has questioned their sense of purpose as they sat in an office of cubicle.

The Perfect Golf Swing Is Within Your Reach

April 17, 2008

The perfect golf swing IS achievable for any senior golfer!

Actually we have noted in our ongoing programs, a dramatic change in the quality of the games of senior golfers many of whom are achieving the perfect golf swing at their ages and despite relative inexperience on the golf course. Not only that, they are hitting the ball as long as their PGA counterparts. And we are talking about both male and female players.

So how do they do it?

The answer is so simple that it may be a little difficult to believe at first. Actually it is the result of a simple combination of personal coaching on swing mechanics and getting stronger. They do not get stronger as a result of arduous weight training using heavy weights designed to give bulky muscles.

Rather the training ideas have even been described as "enjoyable" by some and the program even involves simple exercises that will not take you away from the office or your work and yet have the potential of helping you reach the perfect golf swing much quicker than you ever thought possible.

Cash Games vs. Sit N Go’s

Cash Games vs. Sit N Go’s
 by: Chane Steiner

What is a Cash Game?

A Cash Game, also known as a Ring Game, is a non-tournament poker game where players buy-in and cash out as they please. The value of the chip is the same as cash. For example, if I sit down with $10 at a cash game. I have $10 in chips.

You can sit down at a Cash Game with as much money as you want - within the limits. At a $0.10/0.25 blinds game the minimum amount is $10 and the maximum amount is $50.00. Other players can sit down with a different amount of chips. You can re-buy chips in between hands up to the maximum.

How many players are in a Cash Game?

At Absolute Poker, all the cash games are 6 or 9 player tables. Other casinos have different amounts - usually up to 10 players. As long as there are 2 active players, there is no set amount of people needed to keep the game going. As mentioned above, you can sit down and get up as you please at any time.

Perfect Photo Prints

Perfect Photo Prints
 by: Peter Horner

There are many ways to share your landscape photos with digital photography, but photo prints remain the most popular. Prints can be framed and hung up on the wall to show your photos off to friends and family. Creating the perfect print can become even more challenging if your monitor isn’t calibrated properly. You will have suddenly wasted your time, paper and ink on a print which doesn’t match what you see on your monitor. Read these quick tips for getting the best prints possible.

Dpi and Ppi - When you make a print of one of your photos on an inkjet printer, a lot is happening inside the printer. Inkjet printers work by spraying ink dots of cyan, magenta, yellow and black from nozzles while they pass over the paper. Most inkjet printers have a print resolution of 1440dpi and some printers go as high as 5760dpi. In general, the higher the resolution of your printer the greater detail you can print and the better your photo will look. The single biggest point of confusion comes from Dots per inch and Pixels per inch. Dpi is very different from ppi, which is the resolution of an image on your computer screen. Printers create dozens of tiny dots to fill the space of one pixel, and the more pixels you pack in an inch the finer the detail will look. The ideal resolution for printing an image is 300 to 400dpi/ppi.

Fitness For Golf Is The Key To Rejuvenating Your Golf Game

April 14, 2008

Fitness for golf is prevalent at every level. You hear about it all the time on the television and even teaching pros are talking more about the importance of fitness for golf.

The reason being is the belief that your ‘physical limitations’ are keeping you from optimal swing mechanics, power, distance and accuracy.

For the aging golfer this is most prevalent.

Without a golf-specific exercise program, it is virtually impossible to maintain and/or improve swing mechanics. The human body declines rapidly without stress being put on it.

What I mean?is muscles and bones need stress and pressure on them to remain strong, stable and injury-free. Without this stress?the body weakens and breaks down quickly?resulting in a rapid decline in strength and flexibility.

This is death to your golf swing!

The old adage ? "use it or lose it" is very true. Haven’t you experienced a time when you were too busy with family obligations, work commitments and other stress-related issues and you felt you didn’t have the time to devote to your health and fitness?

What happened shortly after that?
