Must See Hockey
by: J Square Humboldt
I think I’ve just seen another miracle on ice …
The National Hockey League is back on one of the major American broadcast networks. Some would call that a miracle in itself, but I’m taking higher ground. Specifically, I’m referring to the quality of the broadcast. It’s one of the best-produced sports programs I’ve seen.
Kudos to NBC Sports!
America is a difficult market for hockey. It may be the world’s fastest team sport and it may encompass many attributes of skill and strength that should appeal to the American fan, but many regions in the USA have little or no local influence or infrastructure of any significance for the sport. That means any national broadcast package must overcome a series of complex perception issues, not the least of which is in attracting casual sports fans to even try viewing it. Some wags contend that the only real NHL fans are only found in their arenas — explaining why the capacity percentages for NHL games are higher than in any other sport — but, as a fan myself, I consider that a lazy observation.
Fishing Game: Nature’s Playground

Fishing Game: Nature’s Playground
by: Travis Clemens
If all men measured up to the standards of true sportsmanship, there would be no need for game, fish, and forestry laws. Neither would there be so much need for the laws that regulate human affairs in general.
But, in the fishing game, it is the true sportsman, with a love for the great outdoors, a wholesome respect for the welfare of others, and consideration for living and growing things, who sets the good examples for the youth to follow.
In reality, fishing games differ a lot from the other types of games that man has come to know. A fishing game is not a mere reflection of the activity itself but more of the love for fishing.
In fishing games, the angler does not go hunting or fishing only to gain the privilege of boasting over slaughter or material gain. He loves the lightning-like flash of the trout, the leap of the bass or muskie, the tug on the line, the whir of the reel, the thrill of battle with some “denizens” of the deep, and the companionship of other true sportsmen.

Golf Secrets To Dramatically Improve Your Game
June 28, 2008
Every amateur golfer is constantly looking for golf secrets to dramatically improve their game. Yet they are not very easy to come by. The competitiveness of the game will not allow the professionals to easily share all their valuable secrets.
Since the golf game is all about making the correct golf swing, a golf secret related to the swing would be considered pretty valuable. This article carries two valuable secrets related to the golf swing.
Firstly, the following simple realization can go a long way in improving your golf game. It is the simple fact that a golf drive is a very unnatural movement for the body. Because of this, the body naturally resists every effort we try to make towards perfecting our golf swing. Realizing this and taking steps to condition the body so that swinging a golf club becomes as natural a movement for the body as possible, is a golf secret that will improve any game in leaps and bounds.
Conditioning of the body will involve exercises designed to strengthen your key ‘golf muscles’.
The second golf secret I will share in this article has to do with stretch exercises.
Why I Want A Swimming Pool

Why I Want A Swimming Pool
by: Ric Wiley
So you want a swimming pool. I know I do but that’s because my body is getting flabbier as I get older and I want a pool for 2 reasons. I hope by exercising in a swimming pool it will tone my muscles, help me loose some of my flab and make me fitter and the other reason is I don’t want to scare people when I use a shared pool. When I’m in a public swimming pool people think there’s a whale loose in it when it’s only me. Oh dear, I think I need to diet as well.
I spent last summer vacationing in Europe. I started in London - it rained, travelled through France and stayed in an old converted remote farmhouse with its own pool and then travelled down through Spain to the Costa del Sol where I then spent 3 weeks in a villa high in the Andalusian mountains with stunning sea and mountain views and of course its own swimming pool. Both pools were unique and were self-builds. The swimming pool in Spain had been built by the villa owner, a great guy called John, who was an ex pat builder from London. The swimming pool he had built was 25 ft by 32 ft. It wasn’t square, the floor wasn’t level, the tiling wasn’t level, the slope of the floor wasn’t even, and you know, it was the best swimming pool I’ve ever been in. It was great.

Price Per Head Bookmaking for Dummies
From the dawning of legal offshore gambling, came the Price per head concept and no..it is not a cattle weight conversion project to get more dough out of your beef.
Price Per Head Agent Solution or Outsourcing Bookmaking to an Offshore Sportsbook by using online sportsbook software and technology provided by this type of companies, allows agents - credit bookmakers to outsource the writing of their business to sportsbooks or companies such as www.OldSchoolBookie.com (Contact them at 800-382-2825). How simple is it? Very the betting agent simply points their clients to a phone number and/or website and allows them to place their sports wagers online with a simple Pin/Password system that is either chosen or provided to by the sportsbook. The gambling agent or bookmaker then pulls reports at the end of the week, and pays or collects what the client won or lost. The only money that trades hands is the money between the agent or bookmaker and the Price Per Head software provider . It is called a Price Per Head service fee also known as PPH fee.
Advice On Golf Training Aid Products
June 26, 2008
There are many different types of golf swing faults and a golf training aid can go a long way in helping any golfer deal with their specific problem area.
The golf swing is the essence of the golf game and therefore it would not be a bad idea to get even two golf training aids that are specific to your swing fault.
A golf training aid that I have found to be very effective is the weighted club. This is a very golf-specific golf training aid as you go through the exact same motions you do with an ordinary club but with more weight. This greatly helps in strengthening and conditioning all the relevant muscles.
The inside approach is another great golf training aid to help improve any golf swing. This particular device is extremely useful for slicers and helps deal with this problem fairly quickly.
As golf training aids, exercise tubing are very affordable and yet very effective. The strength of this device is in its’ ability to break down the golf swing into as many different phases as you would like to focus on for the sake of improvements. It offers specific resistance training for each phase.
Hockey Card Collecting

Hockey Card Collecting
by: Ted MacKinnon
Hockey card collecting is a generic term for a hobby that involves collecting trading cards with a hockey related subject. They typically consist of pictures of a player with statistics or other information on the reverse. Hockey cards also began to appear early in the 20th century. Cards from this period are commonly known as cigarette cards or tobacco cards, because many were produced by tobacco companies and sold as inserts in packages of cigarettes. During the 1920s, some other food and candy companies started to experiment printing hockey cards to help market their products, but most production was effected by World War I and II.
O-Pee-Chee has been the main brand over the years, stopping production only for World War II. The next Hockey card boom appeared during 1951-52, with card sets issued by Shirriff Desserts, York Peanut Butter and Post Cereal. Toronto’s Parkhurst Products Company began printing cards in 1951, followed by Brooklyn’s Topps Chewing Gum in 1954-1955. O-Pee-Chee and Topps did not produce cards in 1955 or 1956, but returned for 1957-58.
Tips On Finding A Fishing Guide

Tips On Finding A Fishing Guide
by: Travis Clemens
1. Open Communication matters. It is important that you provide the guide all the information they need so that they will figure out what kind of fishing trip is best for you. Be sure to be honest in telling the guide how much experience you have regarding fishing. This will help them to know what advice and tips to give you so that you can make the most out of your time.
2. Seek the help of friends and relatives. Ask your friends and relatives who have fished and if not they may be able to provide you with some referrals. It is better to ask them about their experiences, the things that you need to do and things that you have to look for in a guide. They may be also to provide you referrals of the guides they have tried and found effective for them. This will be a chance for you to ask if the guide they are referring you to has enough knowledge or is accommodating to clients.
Why Golf Swing Training Aids Have Not Worked For You
June 23, 2008
Golf swing training aids have a bad reputation with most amateur golfers. Many of them have been victims to aggressive companies selling golf swing training aids.
The result is that many of them ended up making purchases without first focusing on the specific weaknesses in their game that they want to correct. Others purchased golf swing training aids without the benefit of expert advice.
Many times the approach has been to get hold of the very latest golf swing training aids in the market, rather than trying to improve on personal physical limitations and finding the best training aids in the market to help one do that.
Whatever the image golf swing training aids have in the eyes of most golfers, the truth of the matter is that they work and can have a major impact on your golf game when approached correctly.
The right approach to golf swing training aids starts by not looking for any magical overnight remedies that will wipe out your weaknesses overnight. Instead you should focus on particular exercises and golf-conditioning programs that will improve on your physical limitations hampering your golf game.

Swimming - The Four Strokes
by: Paul Callis
When it comes to competitive swimming there are various strokes and distances that can be competed in at most competitions. Competitive swimming started to become increasingly popular in the in the 1800’s , and due to its popularity is and has been for a long time one of the most popular events in the summer Olympics.
Competitive swimming has an international governing body that goes by the world recognised name of FINA. The governing body of FINA includes local sub groups such as Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) and Swimming Teachers Association (STA) in the United Kingdom ,USA Swimming (USAS) and United States Masters Swimming (USMS) in the United States. FINA regulates the four swimming disciplines, swum over different distances as outlined below.
Freestyle, also known as ‘front crawl’, can be swum using any technique or style the swimmer chooses, although front crawl is swum 99% of the time, and thus in swimming competitions bares no restrictions on what action the swimmers use. The only exception to this is when the swimmer is swimming the freestyle part of an individual medley event. The following events are held for freestyle in distances of 50 m, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m and 1500 m. All of these can be swum in regular competitions and major games.
