The Ideal Exercises For Senior Golfers

November 30, 2008

The really tricky part about exercises for senior golfers, and getting them to do, is the fact they often suffer from various ailments and pains in various parts of their bodies.

It is like having to deal with the overworked engine of an aging car. Things always seem to go wrong all the time and there is always one problem after another. The situation is a little similar with older golfers.

Still, exercises for senior golfers have been known to have a major impact on their game. I have worked with golfers who are as old as 80 years and I can say with confidence that exercises have done a great deal for many senior golfers. We’ve had cases where stretch exercises have helped ease and in some cases have completely eliminated nagging back pains in senior golfers.

The good thing about golf exercises is that they are not a burden in any way and they are usually quite easy to do. They are not a reserve of the young and physically fit. In fact the exercises are designed for the unfit, to help the physically unfit attain a level of fitness that will impact on their golf game.

The game of professional golf has transformed over the years. Many spectators, journalists, and pros themselves state that golf is now a game of power. Driving distance is integral to winning on Tour, club manufacturers gear much of their advertising around the “power game”, and it is a wish of most every amateur.

Improved distance off the tee or with any club on the course requires increased clubhead speed. Clubhead speed is a product of power in your golf swing. Increasing the power in your golf swing will improve your clubhead speed. Equaling more distance on every shot you desire.

The question to ask is how do you increase the power in your golf swing? Three components exist directly affecting the power in your golf swing:

1) Efficiency of Your Golf Swing Mechanics

2) Power Generating Capacities of Your Body

3) Equipment

Review of the list indicates three integral components exist that directly affecting your clubhead speed. First and foremost are your golf swing mechanics. Golf swing mechanics can either be efficient or inefficient.

Shorthanded Holdem, an Untapped Gold Mine
 by: Gregg Dwyer

Feuled by seemingly nonstop television coverage and internet access in nearly every house, internet Texas Hold ‘em is exploding. There are dozens of online poker rooms, with over 75,000 players often playing at the most popular site, Party Poker. While there is money to be made everywhere, the shorthanded games offer some of the best opportunities to make a healthy living.

The standard poker table in an online poker room has ten seats. However, the poker rooms also offer shorthanded games where a maximum of six players sit at the table. The rules of the game are the same, but the strategies employed should be vastly different to take advantage of the different conditions. I liken it to tennissingles and doubles are similar, but to be an effective doubles player one must approach the game with a vastly different mindset.

The most important component to playing winning poker, whether it be shorthanded or at full tables, is starting hand selection. The vast majority of starting hands are losers in the long run. There is a limit poker concept called Expected Value (EV) which is basically the number of big bets a player can expect to win per hand if he were to play that hand thousands of times. A positive EV hand is one that will make money for you in the long run and winning Texas Hold ‘em players stick with these starting hands.

Golfing Products And What You Need To Know Before Purchasing

November 28, 2008

In recent years, there has been a dramatic rise in the number of golfing products available in the market. Most notably golfing products that are supposed to dramatically improve one’s game, virtually overnight.

Smart entrepreneurs have cashed in on the fact that almost every golfer is constantly looking for a way to improve their game and reduce their handicap. The result is that so many golfing products have flooded the market and the results have been predictable.

You will come across many golfers who have garages filled with golfing products that did not help them in any way to improve on their game.

Although golfing products can be very useful in helping a golfer’s game, the problem is being able to find the right one for you. There are a few questions that you should ask yourself before going for any golfing product.

Does the golf product address a certain weakness in your game? It is important for you to understand what specific golf weakness in your game that the golfing product you wish to purchase addresses.

It is not a good idea to go for just any improvement golfing product without being very specific as to what your objectives is.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Mozart Year 2006
 by: Peter Handel-Mazzetti

On January 27, 2006, it is the 250th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, born in Salzburg, Austria. Mozart is widely regarded as one of history’s greatest classical composers.

Mozart was born on January 27, 2006. His parents, Leopold and Anna Maria Pertl Mozartis, gave him the name Johann Chrysostom Wolfgang Theophilus. The first two were saint’s names and not commonly used at the time in daily life. Theophilus translates as Amadeus (Latin) and Gottlieb (German). Mozart preferred to use both Wolfgang and Amadeus and is generally known by these two names.

Mozart is probably the most significant and enduring of classical composers. His remarkable musical gift became apparent when he was about three years old. At the age of four he could play the keyboard with total confidence and composed his first pieces at five.

His father, Leopold, a composer and violinist, was one of Europe’s leading musical pedagogues. In those formative years, Mozart received intense musical training from him, including instruction in both the clavier and violin.

Camping Gear Storage

Camping Gear Storage
 by: Donald Vanderlugt

You have bought the good quality camping gear for those great adventures with the family; now you need to look after your investment so you may use your gear over and over and have it ready and in good condition for the next outing.

Mostly commonsense, but things are not always that obvious and there is always just the right [ or the wrong place ] for your gear depending upon how much gear you have and where you live. Obviously tucked away underneath the house may not be the best way to care for those material items such as sleeping bags and tents, etc

Tents;

Tents should always be stored in a dry place away from insects and mice that may eat or live in your investment without your permission.

Why A Consistent Professional Golf Swing Is So Elusive

November 25, 2008

It is the dream and deep desire of every golfer to be able to consistently execute a professional golf swing every time they play almost at will.

Indeed many spend a lot of time practicing hours on end to perfect their professional golf swing. Still, success remains elusive despite the hours spent in practice and maybe even in coaching sessions as well.

Yet there is no doubt that a professional golf swing is at the heart of the game and it is not possible to expect to play a reasonably good game of golf if one is not able to produce a consistent and good professional golf swing.

Golfers like Tiger Woods have been the subject of studies that show that their professional golf swing not only produces much longer drives but is consistent. When Tiger Woods entered professional golf for the first time, he was at the tender of age of 20 and he played a major role in ushering in the modern exercise=program golfer.

The research on the Likes of Tiger Woods has confirmed beyond any doubt that the high level of performance by these golfers can be traced back to their exercise training programs.

Racing Go Karts: A History

Racing Go Karts: A History
 by: J Larry Alan

Go karts have not been around very long, but they have increased dramatically in popularity. They are fast becoming a worldwide phenomenon.

Go karts were first created in the United States in the 1950s with the majority of historians crediting Art Ingels as the inventor. He built his first go kart in California in 1956 and it was during this post-war period where airmen raced these go karts as a way to pass the time.

They are referred to as go karts, go carts, go-karts, shifter karts, gokarts and many other differently spelled variations. Go karts are related to open-wheel racing such as Formula One and Indy Car. In fact, many top professional race car drivers, including Michael Schumacher, Sarah Fisher, Darrell Waltrip, Tony Stewart and Kyle Petty, got their start on the go kart racing circuit.

Go kart enthusiasts can easily become addicted to the thrill of racing. Once you’ve experienced the excitement it’s hard to let it go. There are ATV all terrain vehicles, dirt bikes, scooters, mopeds, mini bikes and motorcycles, but none give a driver any more of an adrenaline-rush than the popular go kart. They are simple 4-wheeled vehicles with no suspension (relying on chassis flex). They are basically just a smaller version of the professional open wheel cars and race on similar, but smaller, racing tracks.

Do You Fear Golf Weight Training Programs

November 23, 2008

In a sport that hardly has any controversies; few issues have come as close to being controversial as golf weight training programs have. More so with amateur and non-professional golfers.

And yet if you really examine the facts, golf weight training programs need not be controversial at all.

Although professionals have now fully embraced the benefit of golf weight training programs, amongst the other golfers golf weight training programs are still looked on with a lot of fear and apprehension. These fears are of course mainly based on ignorance rather than enough solid facts and knowledge.

One of the greatest fears is that some of the golf weight training programs designed to build strength are too strenuous. Others fear that they will develop great big muscles that will make them stiff and yet flexibility is an important attribute for any golfer.

These fears are of course completely unjustified. Most golf weight training programs have been successfully completed by golfers who are as old as 80 years old.

Junior golfers barely in their teens have also graduated from the same programs without any problem. Not to mention lady golfers some of who are senior citizens.
