Why Does Tiger, Phil And Vijay Have Obscene Power?
by: Sean Cochran
Who doesn’t want to pound the golf ball 300-plus yards? We see PGA Tour players all the time ripping it down the middle of the fairway, and we would all love to do it too.
Take a look at the long drive champions pounding it well over 400 yards. Amazing if you ask me.
How do they do it? Everyone’s got an opinion on that question, but lets take a look at one part of the equation. The shoulder turn is an integral part of what allows these guys to crank on their drivers.
Take a look at Tiger, Phil, or Vijay on tour. Watch what they do with their driver on the backswing.
All these guys take a monster of a shoulder turn, coiling their bodies, and just waiting to unload it on the downswing.
This allows them to flat out rip the golf ball off the tee!
So how can the amateur emulate such a swing, increasing the distance of their drives, and feeling pretty good about themselves and their game?

Here’s To Better Golf Exercise
by: The Sports HQ
There is a lot of golf equipment to help you in your exercise program. You’ve got weights, rubber tubing, and so on.
But what exactly is “proper” golf equipment, designed specifically for exercise? This is the question that almost every new golfer has. We all know that exercise is good for you. It keeps you in shape to face life’s daily challenges. And with today’s fast-paced lifestyle, we all could do with some stamina and endurance.
Golf is no exception. That golf game may look slow. In reality however, it can take its toll on someone who isn’t prepared to face up to the challenge. Mental preparation helps you think faster. This is likewise important since you have to do a lot of calculation and strategising at each hole. It’s basically trying to figure out how to make as few stops as possible on the way to the hole — some 300 or so yards away.
Physical preparation on the other hand, helps one avoid injury during those “back breaking swings”. This can actually become a reality if you’re not prepared. Getting enough exercise can likewise give you better game results. And this is something every golfer wants.

The Dolphin Dive for Certified Scuba Divers
by: Clint Leung
One of the all time favorite marine animals for many is the dolphin. Previously, the closest one can ever get to a dolphin is at the various marine theme parks like Sea World. Then a few dolphin research centers started petting dolphins and swim with dolphins programs which allowed more direct interactions with these wonderful creatures. For certified scuba divers, direct interaction with dolphins under the water is possible. This is an even better experience than the swim with dolphins programs which keep guests only on the surface of the water. This unique under the water opportunity is available through UNEXSO’s dolphin dive at Freeport, Grand Bahama Island.
Golf Training Principles That Produce Results
February 26, 2009
Time is a precious commodity when it comes to golf. We need to set aside time for practice, play and training in addition to managing our jobs, our families and other priorities and interests. Training should be a compliment to our complete process of development for a better game. Let’s keep things simple when it comes to golf training by focusing on those things that can make a solid difference in the shortest period of time.
Performing too little is the same as performing too much. In either case, this is not a productive approach. Overtraining is a common problem among elite athletes and it isn’t any different for golf. Your body needs an opportunity for repair, remodeling and growth so give it proper rest to see the best results. The opposite effect can also occur which is performing too little. If you follow one of the principles of progressive resistance then you should always use resistance that is greater than what your body is accustomed to.

The Forget-About-It Guide To The Worst Golf Tips
by: John M. Furgurson
How many times have you heard someone say “keep your head down” or “you gotta slow down your swing?” Spend an hour on a busy driving range and you’ll get an earful of those golf tips, and it’s always difficult to tune them out. But if you try to incorporate even one-tenth of the tips you hear, you’ll go nuts. And your game will surely go south.
Most golf tips are misguided, misunderstood and misused because they’re taken out of context. It doesn’t matter if you get a tip from a magazine article, a network telecast, or your uncle Duff, it’s almost impossible to know if a specific tip actually applies to your unique swing. Don’t be fooled. Many tips are designed to eliminate your slice, but they’re not all going to work for you. And you might just be trading one minor fix for a host of other problems.
The fact is, even the most fundamentally sound advice can be detrimental if you don’t know how to apply it to your particular swing. It’s all too easy to start practicing something that’s designed to fix a problem that you don’t even have.
Danger Equals A Water Powered Parachutes Jump In An Extreme Situation

Danger Equals A Water Powered Parachutes Jump In An Extreme Situation
by: John Ewing
A water powered parachute jump is primarily executed in emergency situations only. During this jump, the jumper prepares as he might for any other jump. The real difference between this jump and another is that he lands in the water. Water parachute jumping isn’t really something for members of the general public to engage in, as it offers extra dangers that traditional jumping does not. Water parachute jumping must take place in water of appropriate depths. Landing in water that is too shallow can cause spinal cord injuries and drowning. As a result, typically only emergency personnel and members of the armed services complete water parachute jumping.
In order to engage in a water parachute jump, a member of the military must demonstrate his or her swimming ability both in and out of the uniform. Because water parachute jump style emergencies will sometimes take place while crew members are wearing their full uniforms, members often practice in full uniform. Members must also go through training that teaches them how to get out from under the parachute once it has collapsed in the water. As with any fabric, the material used to make parachutes gets quite heavy when wet. Because with a water jump there is the added risk of drowning, military service personnel are trained about how to get rid of the parachute to avoid the serious risk of drowning once they hit the water. Jumpers are also trained in the use of flotation devices, which also reduce the risk of drowning once a jumper lands in the water.
Stronger Abs for Golf
February 23, 2009
Everyone wants a firm midsection. For the golfer, it delivers much more than just a coveted physique. Stronger abdominal muscles convert to better balance and a more powerful swing. Your abs are part of a group of core muscles, which also includes the back and glutes. Strength in these muscles are vital to a golfer’s stability and power. Stronger core muscles can also prevent injuries to the hips and back.
The abs play an integral role in the core muscle group. Weaker abdominal muscles can place more work on the other core muscles, therefore reducing overall strength as well as open the door for possible injuries and strain. It’s important as you work to strengthen your abs that you try to exercise in a manner that will have some carry-over to your golf swing.
Regardless of your current fitness level, strength in the core muscle group should always be one of your top goals.
Here are some exercises to help strengthen your abs and better prepare you for your next round of golf.
Reverse Crunch
Instruction:
? Lie on your back with your legs bent on top of a Swiss ball. Find an area of the ball you can grip well with your leg muscles.

Road Bikes Reviews: The Giro D’italia Is The Italy’s Answer To The Tour De France
by: Alastair Hamilton
The Giro d’Italia has a fine history behind it, like the Tour de France it was started to publicise a newspaper, just like the Tour de France the organisers made the leaders jersey the same colour as the paper, yellow in France from the L’Auto newspaper and pink in Italy from the La Gazzetta dello Sport. The first Giro was in 1909 and was 2448 kilometres long (the shortest), split into 8 stages and was won by the Italian rider Luigi Ganna, 127 riders started in Milan, but by the finish, also in Milan, there was only 49 left, this was not the worst edition, in 1914 only 8 out of the 81 starters managed the full distance.
The winners.
