A refresher for the returning champion, and a quick guide

for the beginner. Knowing the Texas hold’em rules can make

all the difference in your game and the winnings you take

home. Even a long timer may need a refresher every now and

then. Take a moment and read below to be on your way to

enjoying and understanding the game.

In the game Texas Hold ‘Em you use a standard 52 card deck.

After the cards are shuffled or as with Internet Texas

Hold’em you make your start by placing the predetermined

amount of money into the pot, which is also called, posting

the blinds. This occurs before any cards being dealt.

Often the first player (the player directly beside the

dealer on the left) puts half the minimum in the pot and

then all other players put in the full minimum bet. By

doing this, there is always money to play for in each hand.

Why Exercise Is Crucial In Achieving The Correct Golf Swing

March 30, 2009

Achieving the correct golf swing is the magic key that will open all the doors to better and more enjoyable golf.

However the correct golf swing becomes very difficult to pull off for one simple reason. And that is the fact that the body usually violently resists it. The reason is because the correct golf swing is a set of movements that the body finds extremely unnatural and uncomfortable.

Thus the muscles all struggle to find comfort in the body and in the process a golfer finds it extremely difficult to achieve the correct golf swing with any degree of consistency.

Exercise has a tremendous effect in helping the body and all the muscles involved to find more comfort in the unnatural correct golf swing movements.

In fact any exercise that will strengthen the numerous muscles necessary for the correct golf swing will have an impact. There are quite a number of muscles that are used in the correct golf swing.

They range from muscles in the feet to the lower leg and right up to the hamstring and hip muscles. The lower back is an extremely important part of the body in executing the correct golf swing.

Women And Horses - A Powerful Synergy

Women And Horses - A Powerful Synergy
 by: Bayard Fox

Horseback riding is a sport at which women excel. One can try to explain their success because they are lighter than men and have obvious anatomical advantages for the saddle. This is certainly not everything. After 70 years of riding and close association with riders, I am convinced that the most important reason for feminine preeminence in the sport is their ability to relate to horses. It is partly a matter of sensitivity and patience. It is also a matter of willingness to trust in a real partnership where the whole is far more powerful than the sum of the parts.

Men are often too preoccupied by the need to show their macho strength in dominating a horse and are less willing to seek a harmonious relationship. They often seem to feel they must overpower a horse and make it totally subservient to their will. Many of them would be pleased if a horse reacted in the same insensate way as an automobile to a turn of the wheel, a foot on the brake or a push on the accelerator. Some people are just more at ease with machines which will always obey even suicidal commands unquestioningly.

Golf Stretching Secrets to Improve Performance

March 27, 2009

The trend in larger and therefore heavier club heads in recent years has made golf stretching secrets even more important to acquire.

To make matters worse for golfers not interested in embracing golf stretching secrets, golf is a game unlike other sports where continuous playing improves fitness and endurance. This is because the golf swing lasts only a second.

It is instructive that many golfers are yet to appreciate this rather important fact. This is the reason who they have found it very difficult to see any improvement in their game.

Still it is common to see golfers practice hitting the ball for hours on the course. The writing should really be on the wall by now. And that is it is unlikely to improve any golfer’s game if their body is not golf fit.

Muscles that are not fit will usually be flabby and stiff, making a good golf game virtually impossible because a golfer will tire easily and using the correct golf swing will be virtually impossible.

Learning golf stretching secrets should enable a golfer to do the right stretch exercises that will dramatically improve on their flexibility of the body and thus impact positively on their golf swing and all aspects of the game.

Sunglasses 101

Sunglasses 101
 by: Nathan Sauer

Sunglasses are not as simple as many people think. As such, it’s important that you get “briefed” before you buy.

The different parts to sunglasses will have a great impact on the look and feel of the pair. Different parts can also affect UV protection, glare resistance, and what sports the sunglasses would best be used for. With this in mind, it is important to consider each of the different options available for sunglasses.

Different sunglass lenses, tints, and coatings will be beneficial depending on the intended use. Lens materials also serve different purposes. The best lenses to use are glass lenses, because they are of the highest quality and most scratch resistant. Unfortunately, the glass lenses are also the most expensive. Acrylic plastic lenses are the least expensive and weigh less. As a result, they are not of the highest quality and therefore scratch extremely easily. For casual ware, less expensive glasses may be preferred. For sports, higher-quality lenses should probably be considered.

What Is A Kitewing?

What Is A Kitewing?
 by: Nicolas Fogelholm

You propably know what a Kite is, but have you heard about the Kitewing?

The kitewing is a lightweight hand-held wing shaped as a kite that can be used for sailing on ice, snow and land with a pair of skis, skates or a snowboard. This is done in wintertime. For summer use one can sail with the wing using roller blades, a mountainboard or a skateboard. I haven´t yet made it in summer, but winter usage is really cool. I mainly ride at frosen lakes, but snow-covered open spaces like moun-tains are maybe even better - You just need some more wind to get it going in the mountains. On plain ice you just need a little as 4-5 m/s of wind.

I´m no extreme rider, but some other people have found out that the wing is also capable of doing jumps. Well, several 100 meters is maybe more flying than jumping? The current world record from 2004 is 505 meters (1666 feet) made by a Kitewing team rider and helicopter pilot Andreas Laurent.

Golf Balance Exercises To Create A Rock-Solid Golf Swing

Golf Balance Exercises To Create A Rock-Solid Golf Swing
 by: Mike Pedersen

Golf balance exercises should be a must for every amateur golfer. One of the biggest issues with most amateurs is balance, stability and body control in their golf swing.

So often I see a golfer swinging outside their physical capabilities and losing their balance, resulting in a severe mishit that will end up being a double or triple bogey.

There is a physical requirement to maintaining your golf balance throughout your swing. The golf swing position commonly referred to as golf posture is a very unnatural position for the body to be in at address, let alone throughout the swing.

Having a forward tilt over the balls of your feet require a high level of both strength and flexibility in your hamstrings. Just get in your golf posture and reach back behind your upper leg to see how tight your hamstrings are.

If your hamstrings are tight and/or weak, you will have no chance at maintaining your golf posture and ultimately balance throughout your golf swing.

How about your quadriceps?

Golf Specific Weight Training…Dont Fear It

March 24, 2009

The fascinating thing about golf-specific weight training is that despite the fear many golfers have of it, there is really nothing to be afraid of.

Why should there be any reason for fear when 80 year old persons are comfortably going through them. And what’s more is these elderly persons have quite often hailed the weight training as being responsible for the dramatic improvement in their game as well as the easing of nagging pains that usually do not respond to medication like back pains.

Junior golfers are also enthusiastically embracing golf specific weight training with similar results. Some of these kids are barely in their teens. But what has been even more amazing is the impact that the golf specific weight training has had on their golf game. Many have been able to increase the distance of their drives by yards that are in the higher levels of a double digit figure.

Still this has not prevented golf specific weight training from being greatly feared amongst many golfers who have various excuses not to touch exercise.

There are those who claim that weight training will give them bulging muscles and make them stiff when it is common knowledge that flexibility is very important in golf.
